  • Albuquerque Biological Park - The Albuquerque Biological Park is a unique environmental museum comprising four facilities: Albuquerque Aquarium, Rio Grande Botanic Garden, Rio Grande Zoo and Tingley Beach Aquatic Park. Discover aquatic habitats-including a 285,000-gallon shark tank-at the Albuquerque Aquarium, an African savannah, raptor aviary and more at the Rio Grande Zoo, and 20 developed acres, including a 10,000 square foot glass desert and Mediterranean conservatory, and a seasonal butterfly conservatory at the Botanic Garden.

  • ICE CAVE and BANDERA VOLCANO The land of fire and ice, situated on the Continental Divide you walk through the twisted, old-growth Juniper, Fir and Ponderosa Pine trees, over the ancient lava trail to the Ice Cave. Here the natural layers of ice glisten blue-green in the reflected rays of sunlight. West of Grants, NM approximately 1 ½ hour drive out of Albuquerque.

  • Balloon Fiesta/ Rio Grande-Over 900 balloons float over the skies of Albuquerque at the annual Albuquerque International Balloon FiestaŽ each October.

    Petroglyph National Monument-Over a period of thousands of years, hunting parties chipped an estimated 17,000 petroglyphs into a dramatic lava rock escarpment.

  • MCCALL'S PUMPKIN PATCH - Seasonal hours. Hayrides, pumpkin picking, corn maze, pony rides, pig race.

  • NEW MEXICO STATE PARKS - New Mexico's state parks are busy places with special events and programs. Over 30 parks allow you to find the perfect fit, whether its camping, hiking, bird-watching or star gazing, your going to find something you like here. Various sites around the state.

  • PETROGLYPH NATIONAL MONUMENT - Petroglyph National Monument protects a variety of cultural and natural resources including five volcanic cones, hundreds of archeological sites and an estimated 25,000 images carved by native peoples and early Spanish settlers.
  • RIO GRANDE NATURE CENTER
    Located on the central Rio Grande flyway, Rio Grande Nature Center State Park is winter home to Canada geese, sandhill cranes, and various species of ducks and other waterfowl. A trail system along the river, visitor center, and an extensive library with viewing areas add to this valuable public resource.
  • SANDIA LAKES RECREATION AREA
    Fishing, hiking, bird watching, picnicking, playground, shelters, bait & tackle store.
  • SANDIA PEAK TRAMWAY
    Experience the drama of an 11,000 square mile panoramic view of New Mexico from the World's Longest Tramway. From the base to the top of 10,378 foot Sandia Peak, time and terrain seem to move in harmony as passengers lift from the desert floor, above canyons and lush forests, to the mountain top - 2.7 miles of sky-view travel and discovery of New Mexico's varied landscape and life zones.
  • Santa Fe Southern Railway - Depart from Santa Fe's 100-year-old depot. Ride a vintage train through NM's enchanted landscape. Year-round day trips. Cocktail & barbeque trains, April-October. Santa Fe, NM, approximately 1-hour north of Albuquerque.
  • Cultural and Museums - Abuquerque Museum of Art & History (Old Town) - Permanent & traveling exhibitions. Sculpture garden, museum store. Closed Mondays.

  • KiMo Theatre-Built in 1927, the KiMo Theatre features restored Pueblo Deco architecture, which fused the spirit of the Indian cultures of the Southwest with the exuberance of America during the roaring twenties. The City of ABQ's Historic KiMo Theatre: Unique with Pueblo-Deco style featuring Native American motifs & hosting a broad spectrum of performances & events. Visitors welcome to tour ABQ's architectural treasure.

    National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC)
    Featuring world-class art, exhibits, library, genealogy center, performing arts, a restaurant, gift shop and more.
    The only national cultural institution dedicated to the study, advancement, and presentation of Hispanic culture, arts and humanities. Programs feature local, national and international artists, scholars and entertainers.
    The NHCC provides venues for visitors to learn about Hispanic culture throughout the world.

  • EXPLORA! - Ideas you can touch. Wonderful hands-on science and art exhibits for children big and small. Push, pull, grab, twist, puzzle and learn.
  • Georgia O'Keeffe Museum - One of the most important artists of the 20th century, Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986) was devoted to creating imagery that expressed what she called "the wideness and wonder of the world as I live in it." The Museum's permanent collection of over 130 O'Keeffe paintings, drawings, and sculpture is the largest in the world. Santa Fe, NM, approximately 1-hour north of Albuquerque
  • Indian Pueblo Cultural Center - Indian dances & craft demonstrations every weekend. Museums & gift shops.

  • National Atomic Museum - The National Atomic Museum is the nation's only Congressionally chartered museum of nuclear science and history.   • New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science - Home of Jurassic Super Giants, DynaTheater, Lodestar and more.
  • The International UFO Museum & Research Center - Free admission. Dedicated to the 1947 Roswell Incident & all other UFO phenomenon. Roswell, NM, approximately 4 ½-hour drive southeast of Albuquerque.

  • Children's Fantasy Garden-The Albuquerque Biological Park's "Children's Fantasy Garden" is a one-of-a-kind, multi-dimensional project imaginatively designed and engineered to encourage hands-on, interactive learning about plants, people and horticulture for children of all ages.
