Dr. Peter M. Senge
Wednesday, October 26, Opening Ceremony, 6:45 pm

Dr. Peter M. Senge is the founding chairperson of the Society of Organizational Learning and a senior lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received a Masters in Social Systems Modeling and a Ph.D. in Management. Dr. Senge is the author of The Fifth Discipline: the Art and Practice of the Learning Organization, identified by the Harvard Business Review as one of the seminal management books of the past 75 years, with more than a million copies sold. In 1999 The Journal of Business Strategy named Dr. Senge as one of the 24 people who had the greatest influence on business strategy over the last 100 years.

Peter M. Pino
Wednesday, October 26, Opening Ceremony, 6:45 pm

Peter M. Pino is currently the Tribal Administrator for the Pueblo of Zia. Mr. Pino has a Bachelor of Arts in industry education from New Mexico Highlands University and an MBA from University of New Mexico. He is currently a member of the Tribal Council, was Governor in 2004, War Chief in 1992 and Assistant War Chief on two occasions. He also currently sits on the boards of Futures for Children and the Mesa Verde Foundation. In 2003, he was the first Native American appointed a member of the NM Game and Fish Commission.
Governor Bill Richardson (Invited)
Governor Bill Richardson was elected Governor of New Mexico in 2002. He has cut taxes, but at the same time created new opportunities through a statewide Pre-Kindergarten program, a revamped higher education system, and increased access to quality health care. The state now has a balanced budget and one of the highest budget reserves in the country. Gov. Richardson currently serves as Chairman of the Democratic Governors' Association. He served 15 years as New Mexico's Representative in the 3rd Congressional District, in 1997 as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and in 1998, as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy. Gov. Richardson has been nominated several times for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Tiahoga Ruge

Tiahoga Ruge directs the Center of Education and Training for Sustainable Development (Cecadesu) of Mexico's Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Ms. Ruge has also served as director for the North American Center for Environmental Communication and Information (CICEANA). A former assistant to Italian film director Federico Fellini, she is the producer and director of several films on environmental issues, including the series Biosphere 2. Ms. Ruge also orchestrated the media project Mass Media and Environment: A National Call for Environmental Awareness in Mexico.
Janine M. Benyus

Janine M. Benyus is a graduate of Rutgers University with degrees in Forestry and Writing. She is the author of Biomimicry: Inspired by Nature and Beastly Behaviors: A Watcher's Guide to How Animals Act and Why. In Biomimicry, she explores how nature-based innovations will change the way we grow food, make materials, harness energy, heal ourselves, and conduct business. She lectures at the University of Montana and works towards restoring wildlands. An educator at heart, she believes that the better people understand the genius of the natural world, the more they will want to protect it.
David Simon
Saturday, October 29, 12:00-1:30 pm

David Simon is currently the Director of New Mexico State Parks where he is leading an effort to improve the connection between environmental education and state land. Previous to running New Mexico's State Parks, Mr. Simon was Assistant Commissioner for Education and Special Projects with the New Mexico State Land Office, where he ran the Outdoor Classroom Program. He also spent 16 years working with the nonprofit National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) where he focused on the protection and enhancement of the U.S. National Park System.
