Guidelines for the Preparation and Professional Development
of Environmental Educators

As part of the National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education, we have developed a set of recommended guidelines for the preparation and professional development of environmental educators. We know that the preparation of professionals is essential to the delivery quality environmental education programs.

As with our previous projects, we have involved a wide variety of individuals and organizations in a process of review and comment. Over 1,000 individuals and organizations have provided their comments thus far. We want these guidelines to be clear, appropriate, useful, and reflective of the best practice in environmental education as a field.
