Promoting Professional Development and Best Practice in EE
Tia comes to NAAEE with a long-lasting passion for K12 education, which led her to past work with DC Public Schools as a classroom science teacher and in district administration. As a teacher, Tia combined her passions for learning and the outdoors to lead extracurricular clubs focused on gardening, healthy eating, and sustainability for elementary and middle school students. She is excited to use her interests and skills to continue building better and more equitable education systems, especially around the environment in her role at NAAEE. Tia earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University where she combined her interests through a Human Biology major with a concentration in Urban Environmental Education as well as an Education minor. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education Policy from American University. As a native Washingtonian, Tia loves exploring parts, new and old, of her hometown. She especially loves the restaurants and growing her own food at the nearby community garden.
