T'Noya Thompson joined the NAAEE team in October 2019 as EE Specialist. T'Noya's career path was inspired by her childhood in the Bahamas, where she was born and raised with a strong connection to the ocean. T'Noya graduated Texas A&M University at Galveston where she received a B.S. in Marine Biology in 2005. In 2005, she began working at Moody Gardens in the Animal Care Department. For 12 years, T’Noya served in a number of roles at Moody Gardens and connected with the community on various levels. She then joined Galveston Bay Foundation as the Advocacy Programs Manager in May 2017, where she educated and encouraged action to improve the overall health of Galveston Bay, Texas’ largest estuary. In 2018, she received an M.A. in Biology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly’s Global Field Project Program. Prior to joining NAAEE, she served as a Community Learning Leader for the Global Field Project Program. In this role, she assisted with managing, supporting, and co-leading graduate students online and in the field. Over the years, T’Noya has served on various committees, as a volunteer, and active community member. She is passionate about wildlife and collaborating conservation leadership with environmental education through community engagement. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her amazing husband and incredible daughter, traveling to new places, and meeting new people.
