I am excited to join Kristie Wagner as a moderator for the Climate Change Education Group! I currently work at the University of Michigan supporting place-based sustainability initiatives in the Great Lakes Bay Region. I have previously moved around quite a bit. I've taught EE in Yosemite with NatureBridge to 4-12 grade students and facilitated professional development in place-based ed with Teton Science Schools in Wyoming (and beyond). You can read my full bio here: https://naaee.org/about-us/people/emily-schaller. I am looking forward to getting to know others in this group as we share resources and ideas.
If you've got a minute, I'd love to know more about what are you hoping to get out of this group. Are there specific types of resources you are looking for, or topics you'd like to have conversations around?
Looking forward to learning more about you and what you need!
P.S. The Sierra Nevada Mountains hold a very special place in my heart. Here is a picture of me backpacking through the Ansel Adams Wilderness some years ago. The expression on my face helps me remember as worried as I am about the impacts of climate change on our precious planet, it is important to still seek beauty where we may and savor the joy it brings.
