Are you working in a country outside of North America and want to connect to other EE professionals? Are you working in North America but want to learn more about the great EE work happening in other countries? The eePRO Global EE Group is open to everyone and is a way to connect with other EE professionals around the globe.

The Global EE group on eePRO is the professional development and resource sharing space of the Global Environmental Education Partnership (GEEP). The GEEP is a partnership between the Environmental Protection Administration of Taiwan, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and NAAEE. Its mission is to create a vibrant learning network designed to strengthen environmental education globally to create a more sustainable future for all.

Case Studies

Integrating Circular Economy Concepts into Universities Around the World

The circular economy is designed to provide an alternative to the current, linear economy where consumers take, produce, consume, and waste resources. In a circular economy, all systems are designed to be regenerative so that materials flow back into the cycle after every use (i.e.: by creating products and services that are long-last- ing, and by reselling, donating, renting, refur- bishing, and recycling). The concept was coined by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in 2010 and has found vast support from governments (e.g. the European Union’s Circular Economy Package) and the private sector (e.g., IKEA, Nestlé, and Procter & Gamble) who have launched circular business models and take-back systems for re- covering materials.

Eco-Schools Northern Ireland – Empowering Young People Through an Environmental Education Framework

This case study looks at the growth of the international Eco-Schools program in Northern Ireland as well as the challenges it faces in empowering our young people to be the drivers of behavior change for a sustainable world.

Compulsory Environmental Education in India

This case study describes the development, successes, and challenges of a compulsory environmental education (EE) program in India.

These winners receive seed funding, intensive training and tailored mentoring to bring their big environmental ideas to life. SDG #13, Climate Action: Global Summits, School Strikes & The Right to a Future

September 2019 is a perfect time to focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #13, Climate Action, for good reason! A Global Climate Action Strike is taking place on September 20, and the United Nations Global Action Summit September 23, in New York. As well, threats of a global climate crisis loom heavy as Hurricane Dorian devastates the Bahamas and traverses North America's eastern seaboard as one of the largest Atlantic cyclones ever, ice sheets disappear, and the Amazon burns.
