Participate in my research on professional identity.

Hello, my name is Gina Patton. I am a Graduate Student at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point pursuing a masters in Environmental Education and Interpretation. My thesis research is designed to explore the professional identity of environmental educators. I am seeking members of EEPro who would be interested in participating in my research by attending an online Zoom focus group on Friday, October 29th at noon (this time is flexible, depending on participant needs). If you choose to participate, I will be leading the focus group in three guided exercises, each approximately 20 minutes long, designed to encourage you to explore and reflect on your professional identity. If you would like to volunteer, please RSVP with your name and e-mail at this Sign-Up Genius link . If more than ten people respond, a second focus group may be formed and scheduled. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thanks for your suggestions. I really appreciate it. To clarify, the primary goal of this research is to explore and recount the narratives and meanings of environmental educators’ professional identity using elicited metaphors and narrative inquiry. The main research questions of this study are 1) What common themes of identity and transformation arise from the identity narratives and metaphors of environmental educators? 2) How does a novice environmental educator’s identity change across time and experience during a semester-long practicum course? 3) How do the identity narratives and metaphors of experienced environmental educators differ from those of novice environmental educators?

So, I am seeking anyone, novice or experienced, in the field of environmental education who would like to take part.

Thanks for bringing this to the group. I think this would be a great opportunity for the Higher Ed eePRO group members to get together as another touchpoint in the month of October (besides the conference). I hope folks can join in! It will be interesting to explore our identities together.
Take care,
