After Care Assistants – Zoo Camp

Ability to work Monday through Friday, for the entire camp season between the end of May to the end of August.
College level coursework in early childhood, and/or education preferred.
- Some experience working with children (formal or informal teaching, babysitting, camps, tutoring, coaching, lessons, etc.)
- Ability to present information to groups.
- Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
- The San Francisco Zoo encourages bilingual candidates to apply.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Experience with children, particularly those with special needs a plus.
- Ability to work well collaboratively and manage time efficiently.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, squat, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands for grasping, fine work and assembly, reaching, kneeling, or twisting. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands to push/pull, crawl, taste, or smell. The employee must frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

After-Care Assistants are expected to work all assigned weeks unless specific days off are approved by the Zoo Camp director prior to employment.
Summer Zoo Camp will run Monday through Friday from June 5 through August 18, 2017. Training will take place the week of May 29th.
This is a part-time position; hours are usually 3:30-6:00pm, but flexibility is appreciated.
