Assistant Teaching Professor of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management

Penn State Greater Allegheny invites applications for a faculty position, Assistant Teaching Professor of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management. This is a full time, 36-week, non-tenure-line, limited term (multi-year) appointment to begin August 2022, or as negotiated.

Responsibilities: Teach each semester at the Penn State Greater Allegheny campus in a variety of areas related to the BS degree program in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management. Courses include topics involving commercial recreation and tourism, marketing, management, and sustainability. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday, or online classes as needed. Coordinate program with University Park and Abington. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities.

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in recreation, park and tourism management or related field. Evidence of potential in research and publication. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
