Job Description:
The Okanogan Conservation District is seeking a motivated, outgoing, and dynamic individual to fill a Conservation Educator position. The primary responsibility for this position is the delivery of K-12 science enrichment programs with a conservation focus. In addition to school programs, the position will also work on public communication projects including quarterly newsletters, social media and web presence, and in-person outreach at local events.
Applicants should have strong understanding of natural resource and conservation principles, and demonstrate the ability to communicate these principles to diverse ages and audiences, particularly K-12 students and their teachers. A bachelor’s degree or higher in education, natural resources, natural sciences, or a related field is highly preferred. Experience may be substituted year for year for education. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desirable but not required.
This is a full-time hourly position earning $12.00 - $17.00 per hour DOQ. The position is eligible for District benefits package which includes medical insurance, 10 paid holidays per year, vacation leave, sick leave, and retirement.
