The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury University seeks a full-time AmeriCorps member to assist with a growing education department that serves over 20,000 youth and adults annually through programming on topics of art, nature, and tradition. The AmeriCorps member will support environmentally focused programs occurring on-site at the Ward Museum and off-site with our diverse community of regional partner organizations, engaging learners of all ages through an interdisciplinary approach, using STEAM concepts, hands-on field studies, and arts integration.
Responsibilities: Duties will include development and delivery of education programs for youth, adults, and schools; office administration support, including data collection, program communications, and maintaining and tracking supplies; assisting with special events and promotion of programs through written press releases, website updates, and social media outlets.
Desired Qualifications: Applicant will have training and/or experience in environmental science, biology, education, or other related field and have experience with educational program delivery and working with children. Applicants must possess strong organizational, writing, and communication skills and be comfortable working independently and in a team with a diverse client base. Knowledge of regional art, natural science, and cultural heritage is desired, as is skill in crafts or arts involving hands-on work. Applicant should be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, web services, and content management systems. Applicant must have valid driver’s license, clear background check and driving record, and be able to lift 40lbs.
