Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an education and outreach Environmental Specialist Trainee/I within our Environmental Dredging & Restoration division, here at our Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD. Primary responsibilities include developing and delivering educational outreach programs, including classroom presentations and site tours. May also perform basic field studies, which may include the collection of field samples, data and other information. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.
Qualifications for a Trainee include a Bachelor’s Degree in education, biology, environmental science, ecology, or related field, with a strong educational focus. Qualifications for an ESI require 1 year of related experience in addition to the education requirements. Preferred candidate must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
