Job Description:

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Create and implement programs for a variety of ages
  • Update and lead current programs
  • Lead tours, camps, outreach and other programs as assigned
  • Write curriculum to state and national standards  
  • Oversee and manage tour guide volunteers
  • Handle animals during live presentations
  • Training and care for education animals when assigned
  • Create and implement trainings for staff and volunteers
  • Ability to create and maintain community partnerships
  • Assist in the marketing efforts of SWCC
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience creating and implementing education programs and activities
  • Experience teaching children pre K- 18  
  • Experience leading tours for adults and seniors
  • Must have a valid AZ drivers Licenses

Preferred qualifications:

  • BS in environmental education, education, biology or other related field
  • Certified interruptive guide or willingness to become certified
  • Animal handling experience
  • Vologsitcs experience
  • Rabies Vaccinated

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to climb/hop of low fencing
  • Must be able to lift/carry/pull 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
