Duties include preparing and facilitating environmental education activities at schools and in the field, to a variety of diverse audiences. Also assisting with teacher workshops, data collection, and preparing educational materials. Majority of field programs will include leading snowshoe hikes, and outdoor ecology-based school programs. About 60% of work occurs outdoors at elevations of 7,800 feet to 12,000 feet, often in extreme weather including cold, snow and high winds. Programs are physically active lasting from 2 to 5 hours. Moderate hiking is required. Valid driver’s license required. About 40 % of work is developing curriculum and media. Dates of Service: January 9 - November 10, 2017. Commitment is forty hours/week. Stipend is $900/mo. + housing.
