Events and Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary: The Anchorage Park Foundation is a nonprofit organization that builds Healthy Parks & Healthy People by mobilizing public support and financial resources for Anchorage parks, trails, and recreation opportunities. You will work to deepen the public’s relationship to parks and trails through summer events and communications.

Reports to: Executive Director, will support staff in events and special projects as appropriate.

Status: Full-time, temporary/seasonal

Duration: May 29-Sept 30 (32-40 hours/week, includes some scheduled Saturdays and evenings)

Location: Anchorage, AK

Rate: $15/hour. For qualified students looking to fulfill an internship, we can modify the position around your interests.


  • Coordinating and implementing volunteer work days, park ribbon cuttings, donor engagement and other events
  • Providing enthusiastic public-facing support at events and helpful management of inquiries
  • Organizing press coverage: drafting and distributing news releases, media alerts, or talking points; developing media relationships; connecting contacts
  • Creating or compiling content, stories, photos, or video for storytelling
  • Expanding the media library with photos and videos to help promote projects, program, and mission
  • Running social media, including daily monitoring, posting, scheduling Facebook and Instagram updates, and running campaigns
  • Assisting the Youth Employment in Parks Intern in program-specific social media, photography, media relationships, and weekly YEP e-newsletter
  • Special projects as assigned

  • You’re reliable, flexible and accountable
  • You are comfortable with computers and basic Office365 programs
  • You have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • You like a great excuse to be outside any day of the week
