The Aqua STEM Program supports teachers in implementing APW-developed STEM Units infused with systems thinking through professional development, support for curriculum implementation through STEM coaching, and in-classroom presentations. The Instructional Specialist will promote, schedule, plan, deliver and evaluate the direct student outreach components of the Aqua STEM Program. Duties are performed under direct supervision and established guidelines. The incumbent will ensure that the goals and objectives of the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations, and other specifications. They will be able to multi-task, work independently and communicate effectively.
The Instructional Specialist will report to the Director of APW and be a part of the statewide APW team. The incumbent must be able to work some weekends and weeknights, as needed and must possess transportation, a valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance at time of employment, as travel within Maricopa County will be required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
