SALARY: $17.00 - $20.00 Hourly
Scope of Work
Provide supervision and leadership for the City of Shoreline's outdoor preschool, outdoor camp, and other nature-based and outdoor programs. Plan programs and lead participants in a variety of recreation nature-based and outdoor activities as well as provide support in developing nature based components of existing recreation programs.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Develop and implement outdoor camp curriculum.
Implement outdoor preschool curriculum.
Lead activities in general recreation programming such as arts, sports and games for youth.
Oversee, plan, and organize age appropriate activities for participants in all assigned programs.
Provide supervision of program participants.
Provide supervision of staff and volunteers.
Plan and schedule staff for programs.
Communicate in a professional manner to community, participants and parents/guardians/caregivers.
Plan and provide for a safe program environment for participants both psychologically and physically.
Provide an environmental component to assigned programs.
Learn follow City policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma or GED and relevant course work related to education, environmental education, and/or curriculum development
Must have at least 2 years total combined experience working with both preschool and school aged youth.
Experience supervising and scheduling staff.
Supervisory experience in environmental/nature based programming.
Experience in school or recreation activities that include supervising or leading groups of children.
License or Certificate:
Must possess current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AEC certification or obtain one upon hire.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing State/Federal pre-employment background checks.
Must be at least 21 years old.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to interact with diverse populations of all ages in a friendly environment.
Strong interest and ability to lead activities in various areas for youth.
Strong oral communication skills with an enthusiastic and friendly personality.
Strong leadership skills.
