Job Description:

Scope of Work: The intern will support the executive director to plan and implement Blue Sky programs, communications and member services in Q1 2021. Specific tasks will include:

Programs & Events:

  • Support the hosting of Blue Sky webinars and members calls
  • Assist with planning a Blue Sky virtual convening (tentatively scheduled for Q2)
  • Draft outreach materials for Rethink Outside partner engagement in 2021, track and update partners list  


  • Draft Blue Sky external communications, including newsletters and stakeholder announcements
  • Make website updates as needed
  • Monitor and maintain social media presence, google alerts
  • Track website and social media analytics, audience engagement


  • Assist with membership renewals, invoicing
  • Support membership prospecting and outreach


  • Updating databases and contact lists
  • Monitor google analytics and other data sources

Desired qualifications:

  • Recently completed or currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Coursework or experience in environmental studies, social sciences, education, communications, or a related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to or interest in advancing racial equity and justice
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with and engage a range of stakeholders
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills
  • Familiarity and experience with social media platforms, website and database management.
  • Comfortable using Google suite, Microsoft Office suite, WordPress, Mailchimp
  • Effective follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Reliable access to personal computer, internet, and phone service
