Job Description:

Share your passion for nature with the public as you conduct interpretive nature and outdoor field study programs for students and community members. Become an expert at our local plants and wildife. Refine your public speaking skills by teaching a variety of nature-based educational programs, including state learning standards-based curricula, for school groups and others, of all ages, both at our park and at offsite locations (e.g., schools.)


- Implement educational programs and outreach activities for the public, scouts, school groups, and other audiences.

- Perform Naturalist-in-Charge hosting duties at the park Nature Center, inclduing interacting with visitors, answering phone calls, working the sales desk, opening and closing the building, taking program reservation information, and fielding questions from the general public about site programs, events, wildlife, and other concerns.

- Direct volunteer staff on nature center hosting duties, animal care, and assistance with educational programs.

- Assist with planning, preparation, marketing, and presentation of community events.

- Work directly with the publicm especially school or preschool age children in onsite and offsite programs.


Preferred education or studying Environmental Science or Parks and Recreation. Must possess a high school diploma, a valid state driver's license, and be at least 18 years old. Applicants should have a basic knowledge of nature, experience working with the public, communications skills, and the ability to follow oral and written directions in a team setting under direction of senior staff. Must be able to work independently and with others.
