Job Description:

Responsibilities: The kitchen staff consists of a kitchen manager, a head cook, a baker, and 5 - 6 cooks. Working as a team, the kitchen staff are responsible for preparing three well-balanced, family-style meals, as well as a wholesome evening snack, each day. Cooks may be asked to perform all elements of kitchen work from prep to clean up. Teamwork, flexibility, a commitment to maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment meeting all health code standards, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for working with/around children are all vital qualities for success. Kitchen staff attends all-staff orientation and kitchen training.
Qualifications: All staff must be at least 18 years old with one full year out of high school. We require CPR and First Aid certification by the time the season begins. Experience and familiarity with kitchen and food service are preferred, but not required.

Campers dine on fresh meats and dairy products, and natural and organically grown produce such as garden-fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, unrefined sugar, honey and olive oil. Who We Are: Eagle’s Nest Camp is a coed camp over 90 years old, located in the lush mountains of Western North Carolina. Eagle’s Nest provides a strong, nurturing community where campers ages 6-17 are treated with respect, honor, and compassion. Campers have the opportunity to participate in a 1-3 week long sessions which emphasize the wilderness, arts, and community. Our mission is an experiential education for young people, promoting the natural world and the betterment of human character.
