Lead and Assistant Nature Preschool Teacher

The Nature Preschool Classroom of The Lippman School is looking for two teachers: an experienced lead teacher and an assistant teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. The Nature Classroom is a Pilot program of The Lippman School and is a multi-age class comprised of children 3-5 years old.
Applicants must have extensive understanding of child-centered learning, child development, individual learning styles, and the demonstrated ability to apply those principles. Ideally both teachers also have some background in environmental education and are comfortable leading class activities and exploration outside, year-round. Both teachers are expected to engage in professional development in best practices of Nature based early childhood education as part of the position. The teachers must have keen observation skills, and can develop curricula based on the social, intellectual, and creative needs of the individuals within the group. The Lippman School is an independent elementary school in Akron, Ohio, with an international perspective and a robust sense of community. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
