Kinderhaus is a Waldorf-inspired, outdoor preschool located in beautiful Decorah, Iowa, and we are hiring a Lead Teacher to start August 2021. Iowa teaching license required.

Lead Teacher

Requirements:

• Iowa teaching license with early childhood endorsement
• Knowledge of/training in Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment
• Comfortable spending time with children outdoors in all seasons
• Experience with preschool aged children
• Ability to maintain a safe, warm, and nurturing environment
• CPR and First Aid certified
• Willing to complete required professional development training

Preferred:

• Supervisory experience
• Experience in an outdoor classroom setting
• Knowledge of Waldorf Education

Hours:

• Monday-Friday 8 AM-3 PM
• Some extra hours on evenings and weekends for conferences and family festivals
• Yearly schedule - August-May

Other Duties:

• Cooperate and communicate respectfully with children, parents, and staff
• Maintenance of outdoor and indoor classroom
• Collaboratively plan activities and projects with assistant teachers
• Attendance at family festivals, parent/teacher conferences, parent help days, meetings with school district and weekly staff meetings
• Update and maintain all required paperwork (monthly fire drills, daily attendance, etc.)
• Various cleaning/cooking duties when needed

Salary:

• $20,000-$24,000/yr
• Free tuition pending availability
