Salary: $21.72 hourly
The ideal candidate is an outgoing, self-starter with exceptional oral and social communications skills and able to provide demonstrable success educating youth and adults from culturally diverse backgrounds. The position will assist in coordinating the work of volunteers and interns. We desire a candidate who has a skillset that can simultaneously meet the educational needs and interests of visitors, and also communicate in the most commonly spoken language of the visitors (in addition to English). Since Spanish has been identified as the second most commonly spoken language amongst visitors particularly at the Park, a candidate with Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred.
This temporary position works an average of 20 hours per week throughout the year. However, hours are variable based upon the season and typically increase during the summer and decrease during the winter. The final schedule is negotiable based upon programmatic and employee needs. Temporary employees are limited to 1040 hours in a 12-month period.

Two years of experience in environmental interpretation or education working with diverse youth and adult learners, an associate degree in education, environmental science, horticulture or another field relevant to the program area, or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability to perform the job.
A valid drivers license and the ability to drive Metro vehicles to and from off-site locations. Ability to pass the Oregon Childcare Registry background check.
