Job Description:

Amazing opportunity for an experienced naturalist seeking a management position. Our new Naturalist Coordinator will work closely with our administrative team, ensuring smooth operations of evening programs. An ideal candidate will excel at managing and prioritizing multiple responsibilities, conflict resolution, and maintaining positive working relationships. This person will coordinate evening staff and the team efforts of all adults on site to create an effective and supportive learning environment for all students and adults; including assisting in the health office, in program, at meals, and in dorms.

Representative Duties
· Live on site in private housing
· Assist in volunteer high school counselor supervision, including training, coaching, evaluating, observing
· Make decisions with regard to Outdoor Education student and staff safety
· Lead in emergencies with calm authority, and have strong knowledge of staff and site resources
· Provide supervision and discipline of students and high school counselors
· Lead or assist with meals, campfire, night hikes, group games and dance, health office, in dorms
· Participate in special weekend or evening activities such as open house, high school counselor training, professional development and classroom teacher in-services
· Maintain a positive working relationship with all stakeholders (students, staff, classroom teachers, high school counselors), characterized by frequent and open communication regarding program operation and staff morale
· Communicate information effectively, accurately, and on a timely basis, including written and oral communication

Qualifications & experience
· 3 years of experience working for a residential outdoor education program
· Experience with de-escalation and conflict resolution with children, teens and adults
· Ability to remain calm and prioritize during stressful situations
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Reflective/ growth mindset
· Experience with giving feedback to others
· Strong work ethic
· Flexible, especially under stress
· Works well independently as well as part of a team
· Desire and ability to make tough decisions 
· Valid First Aid and Current CPR
· Driver’s License

Compensation Information:

Salary Range: $33.47 - $40.66
190 Day work calendar (Aug-June)
