Job Description:

Seasonal Instructors at Nature's Classroom at Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum will be assigned a field group (typically 6th graders with their teacher, but occasionally 4th and 5th graders as well) and will lead hands-on, activity-based programming that includes outdoor classes, interpretive nature hikes, living history reenactments based on the Underground Railroad, night hikes, campfires, and large group games. Instructors also eat meals with their groups and lead team-building and nature center activities that include handling our animals and teaching students about them. Some work with groups on our high ropes course may be required, for which you will receive site specific training.
As an instructor, you will gain extensive training, great teaching experience and enhance your education resume. As a part of our general training, all instructors will be certified in Project WILD and Aquatic WILD, and will receive extensive teaching materials that are yours to keep for future use.
Some additional benefits of working with FFA Camp Muskingum include room and board (while students are at camp), optional weekend work for additional pay, and the use of camp equipment during free time. Instructors do not supervise students and instead live in our staff house, which includes satellite TV, wifi, and laundry facilities. Your weekends are free to explore the surrounding area, including proximity to Cuyahoga Valley National Park and other great hiking and outdoor exploration activities.
