Job Description:

Instructors are responsible for teaching old-growth forest ecology and cultural history curriculum to all educational groups including; elementary, middle, and high school classes, and university programs; youth, adult, and family workshops; volunteer and other private events. Throughout the season Instructors are responsible for hosting cabin renters; including driving gear shuttles, moving renters’ luggage, cleaning cabins, and hospitality. In the summer months Instructors lead youth in week-long backcountry camping expeditions in and around the Opal Creek Wilderness.


How to Apply:

Minimum qualification

BS/BA, preferably in natural sciences or education, previous teaching experience, and experience working in a camp setting. The selected candidates will have the personal qualities necessary for working within a small non-profit organization, including the ability to succeed in a dynamic and demanding environment. A Wilderness First Aid certification is required by the time of employment.
