We provide educators with peer-reviewed, award-winning environmental education curriculum resources that can be integrated into lesson plans for all grades and subject areas. The Program Coordinator will have the unique opportunity to help shape one of the nation’s leading environmental education programs.
The Program Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager of Education Programs and assists with the development of new educational resource materials. The Program Coordinator will help support the development and implementation of new PLT environmental education materials as well as a new PLT database, which will serve to collect, analyze, and report data from across a broad spectrum of sources.
The position will also assist with the implementation of PLT’s online professional development offerings; planning for PLT’s annual conference; and handle travel logistics and scheduling for various staff. Other duties include event coordination, material printing, customer support, assisting the PLT state coordinator network, and coordinating with vendors and staff to ensure technology systems are working correctly.
The position requires a self-starting, ambitious individual who can work both independently and as part of a team. This position also requires the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Candidates should possess the ambition and willingness to troubleshoot and problem solve when obstacles arise.
The position will be in PLT’s/AFF’s national office near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC with a salary in the high thirties to low forties, commensurate with experience. AFF offers an attractive benefits package and friendly and flexible work environment.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or three years of experience in environmental science, natural resources, education, or related fields is highly desired.
Individual must possess proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and web-based technologies, ability to provide excellent customer service, be comfortable with occasional travel, and be able to lift 25 pounds. Some familiarity with website editing (specifically Word Press) is preferred.
