Job Description:

The Blue Sky Funders Forum seeks a full-time program coordinator to contribute to all aspects of Blue Sky’s workplan, supporting the executive director to advance Blue Sky strategic priorities and goals. The program coordinator will develop and maintain working relationships with Blue Sky stakeholders to build and expand the network, and coordinate Blue Sky programs, communications, member services, and events. The program coordinator will be part of a small staff, reporting to the executive director.

Desired start date: February 2021

Location: Flexible, with preference for New York, New York or Oakland, California (locations for EGA offices); and Raleigh, North Carolina (Blue Sky executive director location). During the pandemic, Blue Sky Funders Forum staff are working remotely, and will continue to do so until it is safe to return to a physical office space.

The program coordinator collaborates with the executive director to implement all Blue Sky activities, with a focus on the following function areas:

•    Programs and Events (35%)
•    Communications (35%)
•    Member and Stakeholder Engagement (20%)
•    General and Administrative (10%)

Desired qualifications:
•    Knowledge of and experience with environmental literacy and connecting people and nature initiatives
•    Prior work experience of 1-2 years in communications, event planning, membership, stakeholder engagement and outreach in a nonprofit or philanthropic organization
•    Demonstrated commitment to or interest in advancing racial equity and justice
•    Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills and exceptional attention to detail
•    Strong written and oral communications skills
•    Ability to maintain high quality standards for online content, printed materials, and other external communications
•    Effective follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
•    Excellent project management skills and the ability to work independently and be resourceful
•    Experience managing a database and administering a website
•    Familiarity and experience with social media, Google applications, and the Microsoft Office suite
•    Ability to represent Blue Sky credibly in the philanthropic sector
•    Experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders
•    Humility, a sense of humor, and grace under pressure
•    Availability for occasional travel and work on evenings and weekends

Physical Requirements:
The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate via voice telephone, read and understand written communication, and generate written communication manually and using a computer. The candidate must also be able to work at a desk for long periods of time (2–3 hours), lift and move documents and supplies (not to exceed 25 lbs.), and bend to file or retrieve documents.

Benefits and Compensation:
Annual salary range is $50,000 to $54,000 commensurate with education and experience. This position offers a generous benefits package.
