Job Description:

The Blue Sky Funders Forum seeks a program intern to support the network’s collaborative narrative-change initiative, Rethink Outside. The Blue Sky Funders Forum is a national collaborative of grantmaking organizations that helps members learn, connect, and grow philanthropy that supports the many benefits of environmental literacy and stronger connections to nature. Blue Sky Funders Forum coordinates Rethink Outside, a call to action for funders and practitioners to activate a shared narrative to engage new partners and allies recognize the benefits of time spent outdoors as a basic human right. 

 

Desired start date: June 22, 2020 (flexible)

Hours: 10-20 hours per week (8-12 weeks)

Compensation: $20 per hour

Location: Flexible

 

Duties: 

Program Implementation & Monitoring 

  • Monitor and assess progress on the Rethink Outside campaign and use of the narrative in the field through stakeholder outreach
  • Identify new partners and stories that exemplify implementation of the Rethink Outside narrative

Communications

  • Develop Rethink Outside content for Blue Sky social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn) and Rethink Outside e-newsletter
  • Assist with Rethink Outside website administration

Events 

  • Assist in planning, conducting, and tracking engagement in quarterly Rethink Outside webinars
  • Support outreach and promotion for Fall 2020 Rethink Outside storytelling workshops

Desired qualifications: 

  • Recently completed or currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Coursework or experience in environmental studies, social sciences, education, communications, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with and engage a range of stakeholders
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills
  • Familiarity and experience with social media platforms, Google suite, Microsoft Office suite, WordPress
  • Effective follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Reliable access to personal computer, internet, and phone service
