The College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) of the State University of New York (SUNY) invites applications for the position of Provost/Executive Vice President (EVP). The Provost and Executive Vice President at SUNY ESF reports directly to the President. As Provost, the successful candidate will serve as the chief academic officer, lead the faculty and staff in implementing the institution’s goals, be part of the President’s collaborative leadership executive cabinet, bring fresh ideas and perspectives to improve programs, enhance the College’s academic reputation, and strengthen contributions to worldwide natural resource research and management. As Executive Vice President, the successful candidate will serve as the second-ranking administrative officer and chief administrative officer in the absence of the President and will assume much of the day-to-day management and supervision of the campus and its relations to the SUNY system and other institutions and agencies.
The Provost/EVP must hold an earned doctoral degree. This individual will directly oversee the academic units, research programs, student affairs, graduate studies, academic finance, College Libraries, assessment and institutional research, and the Adirondack Ecological Center. This position will provide leadership to over 120 full-time faculty members in Environmental and Forest Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture, Forest and Natural Resource Management, Environmental Resources Engineering, Paper and Bioprocess Engineering, and the interdisciplinary Division of Environmental Science. The Provost/EVP will support the College in its strategic efforts to enhance SUNY ESF's research activities, support the growth and development of quality faculty and staff, enhance the student experience at SUNY ESF, and develop partnerships in support of the College's programs.
