Summer-In Learning Program Youth Development Coordinator

The Coordinator provides program oversight in collaboration with State Parks staff, trains the Youth Program Leader position, provides lessons in experiential learning and leadership development, and creates other activities which encourage a connection to, and appreciation of, parks, open space and natural resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Collaborate on the overall development and organization of the Summer In-Learning Program in partnership with State Parks staff.
*Sustain existing, and develop new, internal and external educational partnerships with local youth and community groups for the program.
*Develop working relationship, and attend meetings with other internal and external youth and community program leaders.
*Support and assist Program Leader in developing programming for educational camping and day trip programs for youth groups throughout the State Parks in the Marin Sector in collaboration with NPS staff at Muir Woods.
*Work with the California State Parks Foundation and State Parks Staff to organize the operational budget for the program.
*Plan and schedule camping and day trips with participating youth and community groups.
*Expand youth comfort level in natural areas through guided activities, team building games and play.
*Collect data in support of State Parks to support evaluation, tracking and fundraising efforts.
*Supervise and maintain schedule of the Youth Program Leader.
*Train the Youth Program Leader position: this will include familiarizing staff with programmatic structure, expectations and procedures that are in alignment with the Summer-In-Learning program protocol.
*Provide regular feedback and evaluation to the program and Program Leader.
