Camp Staff and Leadership - YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir
At the Y, we believe children discover themselves through interactions with others and having the freedom to explore. YMCA Camp teaches self-reliance, instills a love for nature and the outdoors, and builds character and leadership—all amidst the fun of camp fires, canoeing, archery, friends, zip-lining, paddleboarding, mentorships, ropes course, and so much more. YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir is positively the best way to change a child’s life.
We are currently interviewing for the following positions for our Summer 2018 Season:
- Youth Camp Counselors
- Adventure Camp Counselors
- Camp Photographer
- Camp Store and Office Admin
- Health Center Lead
- Youth and Adventure Camp Unit Leads
Wage: $300 - $372 per week, depending on position and experience
Dates: June 2018 - August 2018
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old for Counselor, Kitchen, and Housekeeping positions, and 21 years old for all lead positions. Experience in camping and outdoor recreation is preferred. Must have the knowledge and skill in working with youth and teens in a positive leadership role and be able to provide guidance and instruction. Must be able to keep an inventory of equipment and upkeep of equipment. Must be able to assist with the management of campers and keep up with the assignment of camp activities.
Additional Requirements: This is a seasonal position from June 5th – August 10th. Camp schedules will be Sunday - Friday. Some full weekend shifts maybe required. All camp staff receives a 24-hour time off period every 7 days. Must be able to live at YMCA camp facilities in Cascade, Idaho during program delivery times.
Job requires ability to walk, stand, sit (including on the floor), bend, lean, and kneel in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must have ability to lead and participate in physically strenuous activities in a high altitude outdoor wilderness environment.
