Assist in the delivery of curriculum for Little Trees Early Childhood Program, the Arboretum’s 32-week nature-based play program for children age 3-5, teaching sections of the schedule as assigned.
Position Summary: Transport and narrate for visitors on a 48-passenger, open-air tram on designated routes throughout the Arboretum, or narrate tour aboard visitor provided vehicles. Provide interpretation of The Morton Arboretum, highlighting collections, seasonal elements, and Arboretum programs. As an ambassador of the Arboretum and its mission, greet visitors and respond to inquiries.
Teach school aged children science and nature-discovery activities related to the Arboretum’s remarkable and varied natural areas and seasonal exhibits.
The Vice President of Learning and Engagement will lead the Morton Arboretum’s strategy for education, knowledge exchange, exhibits and interpretation, and major exhibitions. The person in this position will be responsible for planning, integration, fundraising support, external relations, and collaborations related to learning and engagement.
The Morton Arboretum is looking for 2 - 3 Education Program Guides to implement nature discovery programs for schools, scouts, and families by using the Arboretum’s natural resources. They help children discover the basic science concepts related to plant and animal life, interrelationships among species, and human influences on the environment, through engaging interpretive techniques and by following education program outlines.
