Working under the direction of the Clean Water Program Director, the Salt Watch Coordinator will coordinate the League’s Salt Watch monitoring program. Coordinating this program includes volunteer and partner recruitment and retention, test kit creation and distribution, and developing advocacy materials to engage volunteers in collaboration with local partners to facilitate smarter salting in local communities.

The Salt Watch Campaign Manager will have the opportunity to grow this program with new, intensive advocacy campaigns in select communities across the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Managing this program includes volunteer and partner recruitment and retention, test kit creation and distribution, and developing advocacy campaigns.
The Outreach Coordinator will support the CMC by coordinating a broad group of partners, including federal, state, and local government agencies; national, regional, and local nonprofit organizations; universities and research institutions; and other partners to integrate volunteer and other non-governmental water quality monitoring data into the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Chesapeake Bay Program’s system for tracking progress toward Bay restoration goals.
Working under the direction of the Clean Water Program Director, the Midwest Save Our Streams (SOS) Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating, training, and mobilizing a network of volunteer stream monitors in the Upper Mississippi River region as part of the nationally recognized IWLA Save Our Streams program. This position will be based in Iowa, with regular travel for in-person work in surrounding states.

The Izaak Walton League of America is hiring a Save Our Streams Coordinator to train water quality monitors and manage campaigns and water quality data in the Mid-Atlantic Region. We are looking for an organized self-starter who enjoys working with people as well as in the field. This position is based out of our Gaithersburg, MD national headquarters.
This position is responsible for coordinating, training, and mobilizing a regional network of volunteer monitors using the nationally-recognized IWLA SOS program. The Coordinator will conduct EE programs around water quality monitoring and train and support volunteer monitors,regional trainers and program leaders. The Coordinator will contribute to communications efforts designed to foster an interconnected network of volunteer stream monitors nationwide.This is a remote position based in Iowa.
The Environmental Educator Internship is a three week, unpaid internship that takes place from July 10-29, 2017. For this positon, interns will be working at the League’s Save Our Streams exhibit booth at the National Boy Scout Jamboree Conservation Trail located at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, West Virginia. Interns will lead hands on activities with scouts pertaining to stream health, water quality monitoring, and macroinvertebrate identification.
The Clean Water Fellowship is a temporary position of up to two years and is designed to provide applied experience in environmental education and water quality monitoring to a candidate with an undergraduate degree who is planning to pursue graduate studies in environmental education, natural resources conservation or a similar field. The Clean Water Fellow will work with the Clean Water Director to revise, deliver and manage the Creek Freaks program.
