The North Carolina Zoo is seeking an enthusiastic Guest Engagement Educator to be part of its Conservation/Education/Science Department. This position is responsible for developing, presenting, coordinating, and evaluating free and fee-based on-site and virtual educational programs for complex and dynamic audiences including the public, Zoo guests, and special interest groups.

This position is responsible for onsite programming for scouts and community groups, guest engagement activities (e.g., investigation stations, pop-up programs, educational components of special events and attractions), manages the biofact collection and helps write interpretive signage text. This position recruits, trains, mentors, seasonal educators and education volunteers.

The Lead Animal Ambassador Specialist coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Animal Ambassador Program at the North Carolina Zoo and its dedicated team of animal ambassador staff. The position supports zoo wide initiatives to improve animal health and welfare while also acting as a frontline educator sharing the messaging of the Zoo. This position closes on 7/30/2020 at 5:00 pm.
The North Carolina Zoo is looking for a Seasonal (11 month) Educator to help create, present, and evaluate programs for public, private, charter, and home schools both on park and up to 100 miles from the Zoo. In addition this position acts as lead counselor for summer camps and provides back of house support during our distance learning events. Join the North Carolina Zoo's Animal Ambassador Keeper team. This position provides daily husbandry, enrichment, and training for our Ambassadors. Keepers are expected to help with educational programming as needed and lead animal encounters twice daily. This position is part-time seasonal but does have rehire status. Employees are required to take a 1-month furlough after 11-months each year. Our Animal Ambassador team reports to the Interpretive Program Manager.
