This is a full time seasonal position. Marine Science Camp Counselors will work full time with campers aged 8-18 in a beautiful coastal ecosystem. Counselors plan and execute free time and evening activities for campers, co-teach educational programming, assist with daily program tasks, and act as a resource for campers during their stay.

University & Research (U&R) Interns are immersed in the daily operations of the Chincoteague Bay Field Station (Wallops Island, Virginia) conduct research, and develop leadership skills as they support college students as resident advisors. Internships occur during our four summer sessions, beginning two weeks prior to, and ending at the completion of summer sessions.
This position will allow you to take a deeper dive into what hands-on, feet wet education here at the Chincoteague Bay Field Station really means! U&R Assistant Director duties include leading college field trips, assisting researchers, escorting groups to field sites, assisting summer courses and organizing logistics, acting as first mate on research vessels, leading kayak trips in tidal creeks and marshes, escorting groups to NASA’s Wallops Island, and so much more.

The Coastal Education and Leadership Program (CELP) Assistant is a paid summer college internship. The CELP Assistant will gain valuable supervisory experience leading our high school internship program, have opportunities to teach a variety of age groups in the classroom and the field, become familiar with lab equipment and maintenance, and have the opportunity to network with CBFS partners, including USFWS, NPS, and more! Meals and housing are provided.
