This course is best for teachers grades 5-12, and will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the New York Botanical Gardens. Up to 4 CTLE hours from the New York City Department of Education are available.
The Edible Academy Garden Coordinator for Programs will coordinate all garden-based education needs for programming at the Edible Academy, our brand new LEED Gold certified and state-of the-art garden campus featuring a variety of educational programs for students, children, families, and teachers. With programming throughout the calendar year, the specific duties and responsibilities will vary each season.
The Edible Academy Garden Educator will develop and facilitate garden-based education programming with classes of students from partner schools, afterschool organizations, and seasonal camps (spring break and summer recess) utilizing our LEED Gold certified and state-of the-art garden campus.
The Edible Academy Garden Coordinator for the Edible Academy Campus will oversee all garden-based education initiatives at the Edible Academy campus. S/He will design and lead stewardship of this three-acre world class edible garden and model for health and wellness education for students, children, families and teachers.

This is a temporary part time position. The School Program Instructor is responsible for implementing seasonal, thematic inquiry-based science curriculum in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden and surrounding landscapes for visiting school groups. Work under the supervision of the Coordinator of Adventure Garden Programs and School Programs Seasonal Coordinator. Work on a team that includes other seasonal instructors, adult volunteers and teen interns to prepare for and deliver programs.
The NYBG Children's Adventure Garden Coordinator of Family Programs develops innovative informal science and nature programs, materials and interpretative components for visiting children and their families. S/He develops, coordinates and teaches registered caregiver/child nature exploration program as well as other seasonal events in a beautiful garden in the middle of the vibrant Bronx, NY.
Support inquiry-based, thematic science investigations in a beautiful outdoor setting for visiting classes of preschool and elementary-aged school children from NYC and surrounding suburbs from March-June, 2017.
