This intern will lead hikes, tours of the historic Gericke Farm, create exhibits in the Nature Interpretive Center, and more! The Nature Interpretive Center at Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve hosts 100s of environmental education programs annually, reaching more than 9000 people each year. We are looking for an assistant to help teach and prepare for EE programs for K-12 students in NYC schools and summer camps as well as members of the public of all ages; care for our educational farm plot, pollinator garden, chickens, and nature center animals; design exhibits, marketing materials, program materials, and more!
Title: Watercraft Inspection Steward/Environmental Educator. Approximately 20 positions available.
Program Mission: The Program is possible through an agreement with SUNY ESF and on behalf of NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation. The Watercraft Inspection Program is a public education program whose goal is to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species through voluntary watercraft inspections and educational outreach.
