Two positions are available as entry-level program assistants for Citizen Science and Education, at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC). SERC is a research center of the Smithsonian Institution, located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay, approximately 10 miles south of Annapolis, 40 miles west of Washington D.C., and 40 miles south of Baltimore. The 2,650 acre SERC campus contains a laboratory and office complex, as well as educational and waterfront facilities.
The Education Department’s programs at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) act as the interface between SERC researchers, their work, and the public. We serve a wide range of audiences including K-12 students and teachers, undergraduate and graduate students, professionals, and the general public. Our programs focus on hands-on inquiry based learning that aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards.
