Seasonal Educators provide educational support at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: conducting public education programs indoors, outdoors and virtually; handling live animals; showing educational videos; introducing guest speakers; providing information to Aquarium visitors; staffing discovery carts; attending to gallery interpretation and animal welfare, etc. This is an approx. 6 month position slated to begin in May 2022.
Seasonal Educators provide educational support at the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: conducting public education programs indoors, outdoors and virtually; handling live animals; showing educational videos; introducing guest speakers; providing information to Aquarium visitors; staffing discovery carts; interpreting and monitoring galleries for animal welfare. This is an approximately 6 month seasonal appointment beginning in March 2022.
The Pollinator Garden Education (PGE) Intern will receive training that will allow them to deliver education pollinator-themed programs, carry out horticulture tasks, collect visitor survey data and collect data on citizen science projects at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. The PGE intern will split time between public programs education (75%) and horticulture tasks (25%).
Seasonal Public Program Educators spend approximately 6 months with the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island interacting with and interpreting for our guests in scheduled programs and impromptu opportunities. Hone your interpretation skills while assisting with scheduling programming and intern tasks, completing department projects and so much more!
