The NESS Summer Educator helps New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS) achieve its mission of building brighter futures through ocean adventure education. NESS Summer Educators implement high quality programming with an active, hands-on, experientially-oriented marine science based curriculum.
New England Science and Sailing is seeking to hire an AmeriCorps Manager for its NESS SEA AmeriCorps Program. The AmeriCorps Manager will work with the NESS SEA AmeriCorps Program Director to lead, supervise, and manage NESS SEA AmeriCorps Members. The NESS SEA AmeriCorps Program partners with schools and community organizations in Southeastern Connecticut to deliver innovative and accredited experiential STEM lessons and field opportunities to students.

Hoist the sails! K-12 students and families are invited to compete in the second virtual Recycle Regatta! Apply the engineering method and become an environmental steward as you repurpose recyclables into a seaworthy vessel. Master obstacles in buoyancy, construction, and physics to race your boat to victory. This live, NESS instructor-led program is hands-on and engaging, and is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Submissions Due July 1, 2020: Calling all students, teachers, mariners, engineers, water enthusiasts, and artists! Are you looking for an engaging, virtual, hands-on challenge to do at home that also helps the environment? Repurpose materials, build a boat, and compete in New England Science & Sailing’s Recycle Regatta! We have partnered with our friends at Educational Passages to host this completely virtual event. Participating mariners will need to master buoyancy, construction, and physics to race their boat to victory! Are you ready to take on the challenge?
