Knowledge vs Learning in the Age of Standardized Testing
Why does EE struggle in today's world of accountability and excessive testing? Why do people say the only way to assess gains in learning is through a standardized test? Why is seat-time the only way touted to truly learn? Why is hands-on learning, nature, outdoor exploration, environmental education deemed something that can only be done when everything else is completed "in seat and in the classroom"? This blog may at least have us answer these questions for those who are hell-bent to dismiss EE, connecting to nature as a way of creating wisdom.
