WAEE is the statewide non-profit organization of environmental educators which supports environmental education through advocacy, networking, and recognition. Last year we celebrated our 40th anniversary.

Our goal is to promote responsible environmental action gthrough education in the classroomn and in the community. WAEE strives to be an organization that promotes EE in our state, which supports the work our members are going and rpovides resource information, as well as opportunities for professional growth, motivation and recognition.

Each year we host an annual conference. This year we are hosting the bi-annual MEEC conference. We also host a Winter Workshop and an Awards Banquet each year.

WAEE was awarded an EE Capacity Grant through NAAEE. Three initiatives were established:

  1. Marketing & Message
  2. Digital Presence
  3. Professional Development: We are continuing the work started by the grant to develop networking opportunities between non-formal EE educators and nature centers.
