The Museum Environmental Education Internship will provide an in-service learning experience that illustrates a career in environmental education. Interns will learn to develop, conduct and evaluate programs in a multitude of formats for a variety of audiences. They will be responsible for supporting the environmental education program of the Schiele through programming, resource and materials management and data collection. Interns will learn to support an organization’s mission.

Many certification programs are based on a process, often voluntary, that publicly identifies individuals who have demonstrated the level of knowledge and skill required in a profession. A set of core competencies have been developed and adopted by NAAEE.
Certified environmental educators have training in content areas such as science, geography, or social studies and in the pedagogical areas such as teaching methods and styles, learning styles, or assessment.
