The 11th annual Ocean Awareness Contest, THE FUNNY THING ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE, invites students ages 11-18 from around the world to create visual art, film, music, poetry, web-based media, dance, music, or creative writing that challenges students to learn about climate change and its impact on the ocean, and to explore new ways to communicate the urgency of the climate crisis. Bow Seat also offers $750 Educator Innovation Awards to teachers who use the 2022 Ocean Awareness Contest as a teaching tool in a physical or virtual classroom.

For this special award, students are encouraged to create fish flag of any shape, size, and material depicting a migratory fish species!
