 PEEC is currently seeking an Assistant Camp Manager & Special Events Coordinator that will be responsible for overseeing and administrating eight weeks of Nature Adventure camps, Growing Green special needs camp, and special events under the supervision of PEEC's Director of Education. This is a nine-month position ranging from February to October.

The Assistant Camp Manager will be serve as the "face" of summer camp programming and coordinate logistics of all summer camp activities, including but not limited to the following:

Training, supervision and evaluation of summer camp staff, interns and volunteer counselors.
Coordination of summer camp supplies and programming materials, including equipment inventories, weekly meal/snack requisition, and trip planning
Contribute to and facilitate weekly administrative duties such as camper check-in, van runs, staff meetings and camp clean up.
Observe and assist in various age groups to improve program or behavior management
Assist in managing the camper database and marketing of summer camp programming via social media and print distribution

As Special Events Coordinator, this position will oversee spring and fall special events coordination, such at PEEC's annual Earth Day Festival and Fall Family Fun Day.  The Special Events Coordinator will prepare, deliver, and assess all aspects of these public events, including the planning of activities, coordination of vendors and marketing of PEEC and it's programs. Weekend responsibilities will be on an as-needed basis as determined by the Director of Education. 

In additional responsibilities include serving as a secondary 'host' for education groups, teaching educational programming and assisting in assigned duties that will further benefit PEEC.

Qualifications for the Assistant Camp Manager & Special Events Coordinator include excellent people skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities, a bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation or related field, three years of progressive experience in environmental education programming, residential camps, or a related field, experience in providing guidance and leadership to program staff, attentiveness to detail including record keeping and office systems. Candidate must be willing to work unusual hours, including weekend, evening, and overnight on-call responsibilities. Certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and/or Lifeguarding are desirable. Alumni of AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, or other National and Community Service programs are encouraged to apply. Salary: $320 per week, plus room and board.
