ECO Teacher Naturalist

This position works with the Director of Education and the ECO (Educating Children Outdoors) staff on developing and implementing ECO in area public schools. The ECO staff help to continue NBNC’s mission by providing informative and experiential programs for schools participating in ECO here in central Vermont. ECO is a long term nature immersion program designed for public schools. Teachers and students learn outdoors every week for half to full days in the green spaces in their community.
- Lead teachers and students weekly on ECO outings.
- Practice storytelling, singing, fire tending and nature inspired art in the daily teaching routine
- Develop, write, and implement lesson plans that align with the NGSS, Common Core and help meet classroom teachers objectives who are participating in ECO.
Help to strengthen the place based education movement in Vermont through developing PD for educators
Preference will be given to applicants who have: BA in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education or related field and have related course work to Forest School and Nature Preschool philosophy
