Position Description

Camp Sealth is seeking individuals who have an enthusiasm for the outdoors, have experience teaching and leading, and are looking for an opportunity to become part of a hard working community! This position encompasses many different aspects of camp, including program/activity leadership, cleaning and kitchen operation, and summer preparation support: helping instructors to gain a uniquely diverse set of skills, knowledge and experience.

Environmental Education Instructors teach classes to youth of all ages with curriculum including Forest and Marine Ecology, Outdoor Living, and Sustainability. Instructors will be trained in several recreational activities such as archery, challenge course, waterfront, arts & crafts, and games. Applicants should display creativity, compassion, and self-motivation and be ready to share the joy of nature with students and guests! With over 400 acres and a mile and a half of privite waterfront access, Sealth has many attractive aspects.

Desired Qualifications

Degree or some college education in Environmental Science, Recreation, Biology, or Education
Ability to work and live comfortably as a member of a team.
Formal or informal teaching experience
Current First Aid & CPR certification; Washington Food Handler’s Permit (can obtain after offer)
Must pass a background check

National Organization

Camp Fire Central Puget Sound is one of 60 Camp Fire Councils nationwide. Our National Headquarters is located in Kansas City, MO and supports us with program resources and research.  However, our council functions as an autonomous entity governed by our own separate board of directors.

Pay is: $50/day worked

Room and Board included!

Season dates are: March 28, 2018 - June 15, 2018 for the spring (Summer employment is available via the summer camp department)
