Inspire young people through experiential outdoor learning with the Rock Eagle 4-H Environmental Education Program! Located adjacent to the Oconee National Forest, Rock Eagle expands the walls of the classroom for hundreds of schools and thousands of students. Enthusiastic, creative and motivated seasonal environmental education instructors are needed each spring and fall to teach science and outdoor education classes (including lake ecology, herpetology, Native American studies, orienteering, canoeing and challenge course) to Pre-K through 12th graders and assist with animal care, with the potential for high ropes course and other curriculum certifications.
Benefits include an $9.00/hour wage, extensive training, a limited insurance policy, and access to a variety of recreational activities at the property. Housing with a private room and semi-private bathroom is provided for $40/week. Seasonal staff may also visit and stay overnight for free at the four other Georgia 4-H Centers.
Applicants with a bachelor's degree in an outdoor-related field are preferred; excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for teaching children are essential. Positions are available during the spring (February to May) and the fall (August to December); Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work.
